Now, this second beta release adds a few more features while fixing numerous bugs, according to the official announcement from Ubuntu Release Manager Kate Stewart.Precise Pangolin will make its final debut on April 26. In the meantime, this new release gives an even closer glimpse at what it will look like. Here’s a quick rundown of what has changed since the first beta was unveiled.
On the server side, the second beta version of Ubuntu 12.04 ships with first release candidate of OpenStack’s forthcoming Essex release and will be upgraded again for the final version, Canonical says.
Numerous other tweaks are included as well, and of course we also just recently learned about new privacy measures being added to Ubuntu 12.04.

AMD has published open source drivers that support its latest Radeon HD 7000 series graphics cards.
AMD’s 48 patches in this driver release also include support for the firm’s Trinity APU, which is perhaps more important given its mainstream push.
AMD’s announcement also brings up the possibility of ‘official’ AMD graphics drivers being included as part of the Linux kernel source code, which will mean a better out of the box experience for Linux users. open sourcing Linux drivers is mostly about increasing support for commercial uses such as CAD, CAM and 3D modelling workloads that are typical on workstations.

The Linux team has been looking at reintroducing Android since December, after the acrimonious split in 2010. After the last kernel summit in Prague, Tim Page set up the Android Mainlining Project and called for developers. The new kernel features have focused on putting enough code in to allow smooth cross-platform development and interoperability between Linux and the current version of Android. The new kernel has also increased its processor footprint, with support for Texas Instruments c64x+ and c66x embedded processorsf Android is merged into the main tree, this would make it easier for Google to incorporate new Linux changes into its OS and ultimately improve life for those building Android devices — at least in theory. Android is based on Linux, but in building the OS, Google has taken a vastly different approach to aspects of its design. Two years, Kroah-Hartman questioned whether it was even possible to merge the two, but now he’s more hopeful. we believe the most notable feature of Linux 3.3 is the merging of Android code into the mainline Linux code. This will make it easier for developers and manufacturers to make hardware Android-compatible, and probably also help non-Android companies develop their own mobile Linux platforms.

One of KDE’s leading developers has revealed that The tablet will be released and put on to the market some time in May.

Seigo said, “We have a lot of pieces to coordinate, and not just technical issues like the OS image and the content add-on store, but things like packaging design, manufacturing, shipping, import, retail channel coordination. So far we’re on track, but I don’t want to offer a more precise date than ‘May’ until we pull the trigger on production.”

So keep your eyes peeled for this tablet. It will be interesting to see how it competes against the likes of Apple and ACER and one factor that might help them against these two companies is the pricing of this product which will be around 200 Euros.
